“I first met Jean when I was in need of help taking care of my mother in my home. From the first time I met her, I knew she was a special person. We had other caregivers, but no one like Jean. She later opened K&R assisted living, and my mother’s needs were increasing. I didn’t want to lose the great care my Mom needed, plus I really needed more help as well.

I would highly recommend K&R’S Assisted Living. My mother has recently passed, but she was well taken care of. It is a warm, loving environment. Homey feeling. She was always clean and received more personalized attention than she would have received at a large nursing home facility.

I never had to worry about her safety or care when I wasn’t there. Jean was a huge help to us. I call her my angel. She came in our lives at the right time and she will always be a good friend of mine.

Our dedicated team, led by owner Jean-Helen Robertson, brings over 20 years of healthcare experience to the community. Together, we provide individualized support including assistance with daily living, medication management, dementia care, restorative and hospice services, and mental health support.

We proudly serve seniors, veterans, individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and members of the LGBTQ+ community, offering a safe and inclusive home where everyone feels welcome and supported.

At K and R’s, we specialize in compassionate dementia care, using patience, structure, and meaningful engagement to help residents with memory challenges feel calm, connected, and at ease. Our staff focuses on creating comfort and stability through daily routines that promote confidence and familiarity.

We also partner with a licensed psychiatrist who provides ongoing mental health evaluations and emotional support for our residents. In addition, we maintain a contract with a local pharmacy to ensure timely, accurate medication delivery — so residents never have to worry about missed doses or delays in prescriptions.

As a Maryland Medicaid Waiver Provider, we are proud to offer high-quality care that remains accessible and affordable for families seeking support for their loved ones. We can also provide notary services.
